FYI - The garage at Christ Hospital only has 20 spots to lease to residents needing monthly parking, and they are full (check back end of each month) but the price is good $120.00/month.

I'm looking at one or two that are around $245/month. More than my building, but competitive with downtown or Newport?

There are a few sites like this that offer a repository of public and private parking lots. Not sure if that link is the best one. I'm surprised how much monthly rates have increased since I last owned a car. My old lot has doubled in just a few years.

If you notice a neighbor with an unused parking spot, it may be worth negotiating its use for a monthly fee. The only garages I know are the ones around Journal Square.

(Having struggled with a car since first moving to the Heights, I was happy to ditch it so not to worry about insurance, parking, and the winters. Car insurance in JC heights seems to be unreasonably high. Insurance and parking alone was over $350 a month. Taking uber everyday to anywhere in Hudson County is literally cheaper.)

I have no clue where PS 8 is, but there is a parking garage at Christ Hospital on Palisade Ave.

I'm soon to be the proud owner of a car, having struggled with living car free since I moved to the Heights. I won't be using it every day, so I'm thinking I should find a garage or lot for it.

Any suggestions? I live near PS 8, and a 10 to 15 minute walk from there would work (e.g., to the Cliff Lofts). Thanks!
