Hudson City Savings Bank which is real old school bank on 532 Ocean. The bank is the entire building with safe deposit boxes. One of our mortgages were there and we use their deposit boxes.

Well's Fargo Heights on Central Ave offer box rentals w/o needing a bank account.
They have a dedicated basement safe deposit area full of huge box rentals.

I have a small safe deposit box but no other accounts at Capital One Bank, at the southwest corner of Jersey and Newark Avenues. Pretty sure they have large ones as well. Good luck-

Non bank safe deposit box options?

I am on a waiting list for a large safe deposit box at my branch of M&T bank. Right now I am stuck with one that doesn't have enough room. It seems other banks want you to open a checking or savings account with them to sign up for their safety deposit box services, which I would like to avoid.
Does anyone here know of or use a non-bank safe deposit box company that is near Jersey City and accessible by public transportation?
