At least they have beer on tap at this place, Henry's Wok doesn't.

I live near this place and really like these guys. Nice addition to the area.

But this is potentially concerning...

IIRC, there "rear" are butts up against housing/residential blocks. I need to investigate their plans further.

Simon Yang might be the owner of two Jersey City businesses, but he's a sports fan first and foremost.

An avid supporter of various professional New York teams, the 34-year-old said that, for him, opening a sports bar was inevitable.

Simon's latest business venture, Halftime Bar & Grill, located at 746 West Side Ave., held its grand opening with Mayor Steve Fulop on May 1 ? just in time for the 2015 NBA Finals.

"I know a lot of friends that go to Bayonne to hang out at the bars there and I thought this area of our city should have something similar, where people can come and root on their team over a cold pint of beer," he said.

"We opened just as the (NBA) Finals were happening, and it was a big payoff," he said. "We were at full capacity!"




If 746 West Side Ave. sounds familiar to sports fans in Hudson County, that's because it was home to Dohoney's, the bar owned by Hudson County legend and former Jersey Journal local sports columnist Ed "The Faa" Ford.

Yang, who grew up in China, owns the bar with his aunt, Mei Yeung. He also owns a Chinese restaurant and bar, Henry's Wok, in Jersey City.
