Michaelangelo Conte The Jersey Journal A Jersey City man had a black eye and was in a wheelchair when he appeared in court today on charges he assaulted police officers while being arrested on charges he attempted to burglarize cars yesterday in Jersey City. The charges against Timothy O'Sullivan, 30, of the 300 block of Fourth Street, were downgraded to disorderly persons charges when he appeared in Central Judicial Processing court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny. O'Sullivan is charged with four counts of attempted burglary to vehicles by pulling on their door handles, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer by striking the officer "in the head and shoulder, attempting to cause serious bodily injury," the criminal complaint says. The charges will be handled in Jersey City Municipal Court.
