Thanks to that fence, whatever activity the self-proclaimed ?expert? consultant who recommended it was concerned about, can now be carried out with greater privacy, assuming that a would-be perpetrator had the unheard of magical ability to scale or cut a hole in a fence. And then a federal agency gave the thumbs-up to install a very large, high pressure gas pipeline right there?!
Lip service, all of it. These funds could be used to address public health and safety issues we already have, and make a noticeable difference for it. Meanwhile, how much money has the FBI spent on masterminding and foiling its own plots?practices that manipulate public perception and ruin lives but do nothing to enhance safety. But I digress?

Feds sending $87M to area to fund security improvementsBy WASHINGTON —The Newark/Jersey City area will get $20.8 million in federal funding to protect against the threat of a terrorist attack under grants announced today by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Nonprofit organizations in the area would get an additional $2 million. Millions more would flow to state and local governments, NJ Transit and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The funds are distributed annually by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to reduce the risk of terrorist attacks and to respond to emergencies.
