We used John Estes of Hoboken. He was great, convinced us to ask for $5,000 in credits off the asking price and provided a detailed report to support his estimate that secured the credits for us.
He's a water infiltration specialist, so if you are on the top floor with roof issues or in a basement worried about flooding potential, he is especially solid in detecting water seepage or any weak spots. We had some electrical issues that he pointed out and then a couple of months later took the time to recommend a couple of electricians that he trusted to do the job. I would highly recommend him. Stongly recommend John Moss - He inspected our current house 10 year ago and just did another great job on another that we may be looking to buy. We would use him again and again as needed.

My agent also brought in Willy Dittmar from DICO Building Inspection. He's very pleasant, down to earth, and honest. He gave advice on cleaning the a/c. He recommended using Command Hanging Strips if I want to hang a picture over the circuit breaker box.

I second. Willy and the team over at DICO are running a 1st class operation. I wish all the businesses I dealt with throughout the home buying process were as on top of things as DICO. They were refreshing to work with. Also, Willy drives a sweet old Volvo with a couple hundred miles on it that runs like new.

Hi - I just bought a house in The Heights and used Willy Dittmar from DICO Building Inspection. He was EXCELLENT, very thorough AND was very willing to talk to us several weeks after the inspection. We had some questions when hiring a contractor and Willy returned my call within 2 hrs and happily went over what I needed to ask the contractors.

I used him today for an inspection of a 4 family in the Heights. He is going the extra mile to have the report done for me by Sunday evening even though it's a holiday weekend, per my client's request.
