obviously, the later you get home, the worse. by 9 it can be a drag. they recently zoned it for residents only and that helped, but it's still tight late. we passed on a place with parking for one car and bought a place with two spots (we each drive) and it's nice being able to stay out later and not have to worry about looking for a spot for 30 minutes. plus it's really helpful when we have guests. we put them in the drive and one of us with a zone permit parks on the street. saves us having to deal with a guest permit. good luck and welcome to the neighborhood! we like it here.

It's bad, but not impossible. Get a house with parking if you can. Private lots/spots are scarce.

We are looking to buy in the blocks around the university, and need a car to get to work. How bad is street parking, or should I rather only look at houses with off street parking? Any other options? Eg. how much monthly would be a private lot?
