Three Jersey City men made their first court appearances today on armed robbery charges stemming from an incident yesterday that was broken up when police came upon the alleged crime, officials said.

Hector Matos, 23, of Mercer Street, and Clendenny Avenue residents Damone Buckhana, 19, and Nefta Simon, 31, appeared in Central Judicial Processing court via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.

Buckhana is charged with pointing a .38 caliber revolver at the victim during the alleged robbery, while Matos and Simon are charged with "assaulting the victim while attempting to remove the victim's personal property as another man pointed a gun at the victim," the criminal complaints states.
