They should just make the outer lane straight only, because 2nd street is 1 lane only. If the outer lane car is making a left turn onto 2nd, they need to merge into 1 lane while turning, it is more accident waiting to happen.

Most times everyone knows to use only the left most lane to turn, but i have encountered few instances that the outer lane driver trying to turn as well, and most are **** going at full speed forcing the car in the inner lane to hit the break and allow them to merge while turning.

Protecting police motorcycles is a much higher priority for the JCPD than protecting citizens.

What part of "a car hit the back of a POLICE motorcycle" didn't you get?

Bystander told me that black car ran into the back of a police motorcycle that was turning left from Washington on to Second Street. They might not noticed that there are two left turn lanes, but because construction blocks right two lanes - confusion and speed of cars can be a bit of a hazardous mix at any time of day or night.

Not sure why they needed eight cops to respond to a minor accident.

There were 5 police cruisers at the intersection, looks serious. There was a cop taking photos of a black bmw, and they blocked off the left turn into 2nd st.

I drove by but couldnt see much...
