A rental?! LOL - the Pierre, in addition to being a hotel, is also a cooperative, one of the 50 "good" (read society, snooty) buildings according to Tom Wolfe.
I like the irony that a Khazakhstani kleptocrat will be living upstairs from the coop board that wouldn't touch him with a 10-foot pole if he wanted to buy in!
