Would have been great if the WTC train was running then we could have biked over to the SI ferry then bike over to the AAHM on the Island.

That would be great! I bike to Coney Island sometimes via Brooklyn Bridge, crowded BK streets, and PATH. An alternate route via VNB and Bayonne Br would be great!

Verrazano Bridge pathway rally scheduled for Saturday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Cyclists, runners, general health enthusiasts and Staten Islanders simply looking to expand transportation options for the borough will be rallying on Saturday to bring a pathway to the Verrazano Bridge.

Residents looking to show support for the idea can join the advocate committee Harbor Ring for a rally on the grounds of the Alice Austen House Museum on Oct. 18 at 11 a.m.

The Harbor Ring committee was founded in 2011 with an overarching mission of creating a 50-mile recreational route around the New York Harbor that would unite Staten Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan with New Jersey's Hoboken, Jersey City and Bayonne.
