The good news that I took away from this story is that there actually are plain clothes officers walking around Pershing Field. If I ever fail a drug test I would blame the kids hanging around smoking weed in the "darkened areas" of Pershing Field while I am running.

now, if the boy had been shot, people would be up in arms. many people should be prohibited from having children because they don't know how to raise them!

Ken Thorbourne | The Jersey Journal

A 15-year-old was charged last night with resisting arrest and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes after he allegedly pointed a fake firearm at a police officer at Pershing Field in the Jersey City Heights, police reports say.

Two plainclothes officers were patrolling the complex around 9 p.m. last night when one of the officers noticed a group of 15 to 17 males in a darkened area near the VFW hall, reports say.

As the officer got closer, he saw that the boy in the middle of the pack was holding what appeared to be a rifle and he heard the weapon make a "click" sound, report say.

With his badge showing and weapon drawn, the officer approached the group and yelled, "Police, drop it!"
