There seems to be a killing trend going on here in J.C. and it's getting easier and easier.

A Jersey City man charged in February with knocking a man unconscious and robbing him has now been charged with murdering a popular Jersey City man earlier this month, authorities said.

Kirt Barrington, 19, of Linden Avenue, was arrested by Hudson County Prosecutor's Office homicide detectives yesterday in Hackensack at 5:30 p.m., Assistant Prosecutor Gene Rubino said this morning. A warrant had been issued for his arrest on July 19.

He is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose in the shooting death of Christopher Lemoine on July 3. His bail was set at $350,000 cash only.

Details of the arrest were not released, nor has a motive for killing of Lemoine, who was gunned down on Lembeck Avenue at 7:25 p.m. that night. Lemoine was a graduate of McNair Academic High School and was studying criminal justice so he could become a police officer, friends said.

A teen murderer from Greenville, killing a wonderful kid whose parents must've worked hard to get him into McNair and college. An immigrant dream child, from a loving family, killed by a mutant-out on bail after violently assaulting and robbing another man.

Visitation for the Jersey City teen who was shot and killed Thursday night is scheduled for today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and the funeral Mass is tomorrow at 9 a.m., according to an online obituary.
Christopher Lemoine, 19, was found shot and bleeding on Lembeck Avenue at 7:25 p.m. Thursday and was pronounced dead about 30 minutes later. No one has been charged in his death, authorities said.

The visitation will be held at Introcaso-Angelo Funeral Home, 143 Brunswick St., in Jersey City. Lemoine's funeral Mass will be at St. Bridget Church tomorrow morning at 9 a.m.

Lemoine was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and he lived in Jersey City since the age of 3. He was a McNair-Academic High School graduate and was attending Rutgers University in Newark when he was killed.
