Transformers to not emit microwaves. They are coils of copper wire wrapped around an iron core. They do give off an electromagnetic field, and nobody currently knows whether that's bad for you or not. Some studies say yes, some say no. (Thanks, studies)
Look up transformer emissions, transformer radiation, transformer emf. Exposure drops very quickly the further you get from the transformer, but it also matters how much current the transformer is carrying. How many feet would you estimate the transformers are from your living area?

Autobots and Decepticons are both Transformers. Nice attempt, though! Let me guess - only daughters? ;)

They're not nearly as bad as the Decepticons.

This might help you determine if these things are affecting you.

Transformers - Hazardous?

I've noticed transformers (cylinder like items) clustered on electric poles throughout Jersey City every 2-4 blocks. They are usually clustered in 2s or 3s. We have a cluster of 3 very close to the windows in our bedroom and family room. I never thought much of it until a visitor from out of town was shocked that these things were hanging so close to our building.
Should we be concerned about whatever these things are emitting (microwaves), especially since they're so close to our apartment? I never thought much of them other than being an eyesore, but this visitor now has me concerned. If anyone has any knowledge on these things, I'd be happy to hear it. I have pictures, but I can't figure out how to post a pic in a message.
