Actually it's April now. They pushed back their opening.

OOPS! My mistake.

;-( I thought you guys were talking about the dive coffee shop on central by Charles St. Same thought about the Gym...thought you were talking abt the new dive one opening next to Gino's, see I never think of Palisades as the Heights...especially after dark.

I'm happy to hear about the coffee shop, hopefully they open early and have tea there.

Depending where in the Heights you live, you could consider joining the Sky Club which is right down the 100 steps on 2nd street in Hoboken. They have a full gym, classes, nice pool and playroom for babies and kids. It's semi-fancy but when I went there I found the price reasonable. That was about 6 years ago, so not sure how it is now.

Probably confusing Palisade with Central Ave, where there is a new boxing gym (which is why it is dominated by a boxing ring). The new coffee shop is being opened by Mod Cup, who have had their cart at various places and roast their own beans.

I suppose if I wanted to pay for the ambiance (warm towels, eucalyptus infused steam room, model hot trainers, etc.), I would get a membership at Club H in Hoboken - I've been by both the boxing gym on Central as well as the Bootcamp on Palisade - both look functional, if coming with a sweaty socks sort of vibe.

Has anyone checked out either?

Blood...what are you on about?
How ridiculous is your response about the coffee shop when it hasn't even opened up yet.
A scourge on the area? This is one of the nicest stretches of Palisades.
Here' a quarter, go buy yourself a clue.
Unbelievable.

"brand new gym" YOU call that a gym? It looks horrible, filthy floor, old equipment in plain sight...tiny space. I'm all for new businesses...but this place looks like a dump...and it hasn't even opened...and what's with the huge boxing ring that takes up all that space.

That "coffee shop" across the street is a hang-out for junkies, derelicts and the homeless and is a scourge on the area. True indeed.

Brand new gym on the corner of Palisades and Bowers.
New coffee shop opening up across the street and a new yoga studio one block down...all good.
Now if we could just get this administration to pay just a little attention to all the graffiti that's destroying the neighborhood, things would be grand.
