HGTV 'Kitchen Cousins' hosts in dispute over work at Mattingly's former Tenafly home
The co-hosts of HGTV's "Kitchen Cousins" home improvement show filed for personal bankruptcy last week when faced with an unfavorable arbitration ruling over their allegedly shoddy renovation of a Bergen County home where N.Y. Yankee great Don Mattingly used to live. http://www.northjersey.com/news/busin ... er-tenafly-home-1.1390591

The average home price in Tenafly is probably close to a million dollars.

HACKENSACK ? A Tenafly couple is suing the co-hosts of HGTV's "Kitchen Cousins" for allegedly doing shoddy work on their home, lying about the house passing final inspections and abandoning the job after being paid $211,000, Courthouse News Service reported. Robert and Peng Avery seek damages from John Colaneri and Anthony Carrino, and their company Brunulleschi Construction, for consumer fraud, breach of contract, fraud, negligence and other claims. The company did not return calls from Courthouse News Service seeking comment. The Averys filed suit in Bergen County Court in Hackensack. "Kitchen Cousins" and HGTV are not parties to the complaint. The show revolves around Colaneri and Carrino's work remodeling kitchens. The two told Inside Jersey in January they viewed "Kitchen Cousins" as an opportunity to share their construction and design knowledge with a national audience and dispel the state's "Jersey Shore" image. Colaneri and Carrino grew up in Wyckoff and Franklin Lakes, respectively.
