Woman robbed of $30 at gunpoint near Journal Square

A Jersey City woman was robbed of $30 at gunpoint while walking toward Journal Square Saturday morning, police said.

The 27-year-old was on Sip Avenue west of Journal Square at 5 a.m. when a man walked up to her, pulled out a handgun, held it to her head and demanded money, the woman told police. The man then went through her pockets and bag and took $30, a police report said.

The woman described the man as 5-foot-6 to 5-8, medium build and clean-shaven. She also said the man was wearing gray sweatpants and a gray hooded sweatshirt, the police report said.
