I wonder how it is to bike around. With the roads wet and the streets dark a biker may get swallowed up.

'Dozens and dozens' of missing manhole covers in Jersey City thanks to storm, official says

Published: Wednesday, July 18, 2012, 6:23 PM

By Terrence T. McDonald/The Jersey Journal

Motorists are advised to stay off the roads until the storm waters from this afternoon?s torrential downpour subside, as Jersey City is reporting ?dozens and dozens? of manhole covers that flew off from the force of the water.

Fire Director Armando Roman said he saw three missing manhole covers in a row on Montgomery Street near the Montgomery Gardens public-housing complex.

If motorists don?t see that the manhole cover is missing, Roman said, they can damage their car and injure themselves.
