Jersey City police say man and woman arrested after shots are fired in Lincoln Park
Published: Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 3:01 AM By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal A Jersey City man walking his dog with a friend in Lincoln Park was arrested after he allegedly fired a few rounds with a handgun on Thursday, officials said yesterday. Tony Jamison, 28, of Bergen Avenue, was arrested at 9:52 p.m. and charged with crimes including weapons offenses, tampering with evidence, and obstructing, as well as municipal violations of unlawful possession of a firearm in a park and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a park, Sheriff?s Office spokesman Mike Makarski said. Jamison was in the company of Melissa Bosch, 27, of West Side Avenue, at the time of the incident and she was charged with tampering with evidence and obstructing, Makarski said. Sheriff?s Officer Michael Babiak was on patrol in the park when he heard three shots come from the area of a playground and he called for backup after seeing a man and woman in the area and it appeared the man was armed, officials said. When the two people were approached and ordered to the ground, Jamison tossed something, which turned out to be a handgun, reports said, adding that Bosch was found to have four spent rounds in her pocket.
