Thanks to all who replied--for some reason I didn't see the last three and I wouldn't want someone to think that I wasn't appreciative. Now, I have some options!

Couldn't resist looking this up. American Lawn Mower Co. makes a push mower sharpening kit. You can get it on Amazon for about 15 bucks.

What about Downtown Hardware on Newark Ave? They're pretty old school and might do something like sharpen blades. Not sure but it's worth an ask...

Boy that brings back some memories. I recall we use to bring our push mower to Duncan Hardware on Westside and Duncan for a tune up. They still rent lawn mowers usually have them lined up in front of the store. I think they even have one or two push mowers.

There is also Resnick?s Hardware in Bayonne. They at least have a web site and list mower repair/tuneup under Services?

www.resnickshardware.com

Get that cold glass of lemonade ready!

Thanks--I think I'll try this for now, since it's free. I'm not sick of it yet!

The only place I can think of is Matera's nursery up 1-9 in Ridgefield.

Personally, I found that if you're not religious about mowing frequently, the push mower can't cut overgrown grass well, it just lays it down. I ended up getting a tiny electric mower off craigslist.

Hello--when I bought my house, I inherited some cool old stuff and one thing is a manual push mower that's perfect for my tiny lawn. Can someone give advice about where I can get the blades sharpened and the machine generally cleaned and serviced?

Thank you,

Rebecca
