Are you looking for licensed and insured companies or just local handymen who do this for cash?
Permits are not necessary for most but the Vent issue might be more serious......
I have used several local people but they are companies.

Anyway, the process of getting estimates has been quite interesting so far.

The folks I've found have come through Angie's List, Thumbtack.com and through a couple of personal recommendations.

The range and quality of estimates has varied greatly for the painting. I've had much better luck with flooring.

Howdy All,

I was hoping that someone could recommend someone for each of the following:

1. Built-in Shelving and Cabinetry
2. Refinishing Hardwood Floors
3. Interior Painting
4. Need someone to complete grouting of Kitchen backsplash
5. Dryer duct repair - appears that there is a break in our dryer exhaust venting inside the wall.

I'm trying to avoid going with a general contractor and would like to use as many local folks as possible.
