Sort of...Growing up in J.C. I used to read stories about a boy and his dog now it's about a boy and his gun. In 21st century J.C. somethings never change.

Please tell me he didn't intend to kill the brother???

Apparently so, he even tried to hide the body. Sounds like a brotherly love that only Cain & Abel knew.

No thank God it was not a JC cop. It was handled in the best way. My child told me what happened because that's the sort of honest kid we raised. I immediately told the mother and the parents addressed the situation. No need for me to call DYFS as there was no malicious intent or negligence on the Dad's part. He was made aware of the situation and took appropriate actions which prevented any kind of tragedy.
That's all folks.

Getting stranger and stranger?.

Probe of boy's shooting death hits snag as authorities unable to interview corrections officer whose gun was used

http://www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/20 ... oys_shooting_death_h.html

In an interview with News12, George's mother, April Alexander, said he was found outside 293 Randolph Avenue "with no shoes and no coat on in the rain."

DeFazio said "Dragging or carrying somebody from the scene where they have been shot and putting them outside on the sidewalk does not comport with an attempt to get them medical attention. ... It is a crucial part of the investigation."

A passerby found the boy alone at the curb and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The prosecutor said Green-Simms arrived home after George had been left at the curb.

Alexander said in the News12 interview that her son's brother "called him and told him to come around for a minute. ... I just hope and pray that (his half-brother) ain't called my son over there for him to kill him."

Damn! This is so incredibly sad for all the families involved in this horrendous tragedy. I feel sick thinking about it.
I remember one time my child visited a school friend whose Dad was a cop and came home and told me how they got one of the Dad's pistols out of the top of a closet. I did tell the Mom and she and the Dad secured the weapon but was the last time he visited that kid.

Was the cop a Jersey City police officer, and how long ago was this incident ? I would have gone straight to the police department or better yet the media.

11-year-old Jersey City boy shot dead in apparent gun accident, source says

By Stephanie Musat/ For The Jersey Journal

A boy playing with his parent's gun shot his 11-year-old friend dead in a Jersey City home tonight, a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said.

The gun belonged to a corrections officer, said the source, who requested anonymity because he is not authorized to speak about the investigation.

Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio confirmed the shooting death, but said all other details are being investigated. "We're not sure at this point whether it's an accident or a homicide," DeFazio said tonight.

The 11-year-old, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, 293 Randolph Ave., DeFazio said. The boy, who DeFazio said lived in the area, was shot at 6 p.m.
