The convenient store on Kennedy Blvd that was violently robbed is quite a busy area and considered pretty safe since the store is 24 hrs at 10:30pm is still busy with traffic and pedestrians. I hope they catch these ingrates.

By Stephanie Musat/ For The Jersey Journal

Jersey City police have released photos of a gunman wanted for robbing and attacking a supermarket and patrons on Christmas.

According to police, two men entered the grocery store after 10 p.m., carrying a handgun and an assault rifle, and demanded money.

The men hit four people with the guns, including one man who walked in to the Fine Fare Supermarket at 3000 Kennedy Blvd mid-heist.

One man was about 5-foot-4, the other about 5-foot-9, and both were thin, police said, adding that they wore black hooded sweatshirts, black skullcaps and jeans.
The images were released yesterday. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.

Also I think they are missing the rest of this part of the story...

It dont say why he was denied entrance, whats the point of that story???

At 12:58 a.m. on Saturday, the Bergen Road resident was denied entrance at the Nostalgia Bar, located at Virginia and Martin Luther King Dr., which only admits patrons 30 or older, police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez said.

As the victim walked away from the bar and crossed the street, he heard a gunshot and felt pain in his right thigh, Martinez said, adding that the man knew he was shot.

Friends dropped the victim off at Jersey City Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries, Martinez said.

The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone with information should call Jersey City police at (201) 547-JAIL.

A Christmas weekend crime spree in Jersey City resulted in at least four robberies, two shootings, two knife incidents and a homicide, police said.

The most violent robbery occurred Sunday when an armed pair pistol-whipped four people in a local supermarket. A similar incident also took place in Secaucus yesterday. Two other large robberies netted thieves a total of more than $80,000.

21-year-old man was shot after being denied entry to Nostalgia Bar, located at Virginia and Martin Luther King Dr., in Jersey City bar on December 24, 2011. Photo taken on December 26, 2011.

And, on Sunday night, a 44-year-old Roosevelt Avenue man was killed in an assault in which he suffered blunt force head trauma, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said.

In the violent robbery Sunday, two men armed with a handgun and a ?long assault-type firearm? robbed the owner of Fine Fare Supermarket, 3000 Kennedy Blvd., and five customers about 10:20 p.m., police spokesman Lt. Edgar Martinez said.

The first man was about 5-foot-4, the second about 5-foot-9, and both were thin, police said. They both wore black hooded sweaters, black skullcaps and jeans.
The owner said he lost $200 in cash and almost $1,000 from the store?s lottery machine and cash registers, which were broken during the incident, police said.
Four victims were struck about the head with guns, including one man who entered the store during the robbery and was hit when he said he had no money, police said.

Other pistol-whipped victims included a man who was robbed of his wallet, $300 cellphone and $100 in cash, another robbed of his cellphone and $50, and another who was attempting to make a purchase when the robbery began, police said. A fifth man was robbed of $230, police said.

In Secaucus, a similar incident involving a lone gunman with a ?long gun? took place yesterday. The ski-masked man demanded money at a Shell gas station, 300 Route 3 East, at 1:36 a.m., police said.

During the robbery, the man struck two gas station employees in the head with his gun, police said, adding that they did not need medical attention.

The man fled east on Route 3 in a black, two-door BMW, police said.

On Saturday at 6 p.m. in Jersey City, the 55-year-old owner of Galaxia International Services Inc., a money transfer company at 2801 Kennedy Blvd., was speaking to a customer through bulletproof glass when he saw someone wearing a black garment covering his entire body and head enter, police said.

The owner opened a door to speak with the person, who pulled out an assault rifle, pointed the weapon at the owner?s head, and pushed him into a back room with the muzzle of the gun, police said.

The robber then pointed at a drawer that contained currency and told the owner to put money into a plastic shopping bag, police said. The robber also opened two other drawers and put their contents in the bag. The robber left with $31,216 and was last seen walking north on Kennedy Boulevard, according to police. The owner described the robber as a light-skinned male, 6-foot-1, wearing black gloves and wearing the black garment, police said.

On Friday at about noon, an 18-year-old Bergen Avenue resident working at a repair shop at 848 Garfield Ave., agreed to buy a black Acura from a passing driver for $10,000, police said. The Acura?s owner returned at 5:45 p.m. with two other men to complete the sale, police said.

When the victim pulled out a plastic shopping bag with $50,000 in $20 bills, the men punched the victim and grabbed the cash, fleeing east on Carteret Avenue, police said.

On Saturday at 1:22 a.m., a 54-year-old Clinton Avenue resident walked into Jersey City Medical Center with multiple stab wounds to his chest and underarm area, police said.

The man told police that he went to investigate noise outside his home at 1 a.m. and found a friend of his wife and an unknown man fighting, police said. When the 54-year-old tried to break up the fight, the man who was wearing a gray jacket and blue jeans stabbed him multiple times and fled, police said.

On Saturday at 2:45 p.m., a Jersey City teen approximately 13 years old opened the door of his Pacific Avenue home and found another boy about the same age who swung a knife at him several times, cutting his hand, police said.

When the victim?s mother heard the commotion from the home?s second floor, she ran downstairs and the youth dropped the knife and fled, police said. The incident, which police said took place after a dispute over a basketball game, is being investigated by the Juvenile Unit.

On Saturday at 12:58 a.m., a 21-year-old Old Bergen Road resident was denied entrance at the Nostalgia Bar, located at Virginia Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive.
