2 men charged after fight with Jersey City cops responding to street brawl outside bowling alley
Published: Wednesday, December 28, 2011, 3:00 AM By Travis Fedschun/The Jersey Journal
A fight outside the Hudson Lanes bowling alley in Jersey City resulted in an officer receiving a cut to his hand and the arrests of two Jersey City men, police said.
Police witnessed a large fight on Garfield Avenue near the bowling alley at 11 p.m. Monday. When they tried to enter the bowling alley, Mark Claston, 20, allegedly stretched out, blocking the entrance, and told cops, "I'm not doing anything. I'm not moving," police said.
When cops moved to arrest Claston, Jason Olavania, 22, used his body as a barrier to stop the officers and then shoved an officer, police said. The officer cut his hand in the struggle to arrest Olavania that ensued, reports said.
