Quote:A very interesting piece of history but as I read it, Jacob Stoffelsen was the slave owner, not Cornelius Van Vorst, whose second wife Vrouwtje Ides, was first married to Stoffelsen.

Although I?m capable of taking on other?s guilt, a 360-year-old status quo exceeds even my parameters. Today, the only slaves in VVP are myself and one other, who are willing participants.

See you tomorrow and yes, the farmers? market is still on. The main farmer and a few other vendors will be continuing through the winter.

Help us rake the leaves in Van Vorst Park, Saturday November 19th, from 10:30am-1:00pm.

The Friends of Van Vorst Park need your help to remove the fallen leaves from the grassy areas and walkways so the lawns won?t get smothered and the walkways will be safe.

Come join your neighbors who take care of this special park and get some aerobic exercise at the same time. We will provide rakes, gloves, and leaf bags. Students receive community service hours.

Spend half an hour or three, any help is appreciated.

Hope to see you there.
