Woman tries to stab boyfriend's nephew, then defecates in police holding cell, cops say

By Michaelangelo Conte/The Jersey Journal

A Jersey City woman arrested on charges she tried to stab her boyfriend's nephew with two large kitchen knives was later sent for psychological evaluation after defecating in a police holding cell, officials said.

The woman, 33, of Summit Avenue, was arrested at her boyfriend's College Drive home at about 10:40 p.m. last night and charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses, reports said.

The nephew said the woman arrived at the home and began arguing incoherently, reports said, adding that when she was told to leave, the woman allegedly picked up two knives and tried to stab the nephew.

The men disarmed herr and held her down, but when she heard police sirens she went into the common hallway and began taking of her clothes and said "I'm going to tell the police you raped me," reports said. The woman then put her clothes back on and tried to leave, but was arrested just outside the building, reports said.

The uncle told police the incident began when the woman followed him into the building. When he asked her what she was doing there, she said "to bust your nephew's (deleted)," reports said.

Once in a South District Police Station holding cell, the woman took off her shirt and tried to strangle herself with it, reports said, adding that police then cuffed both her hands to a bench. With both hands cuffed, she managed to take off her pants and defecate, reports said, adding that police called a cleaning service to "decontaminate" the cell.

The woman was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center to be evaluated and her erratic behavior there caused hospital staff to restrain her arms and legs, as well as sedate her, reports said.

Police found there were two warrants for her arrest, one out of Union City and one out of Jersey City, reports said.
