View Larger Map View Larger Map Camden man shot in head stopped for speeding Published: Monday, October 24, 2011, 3:00 AM By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal POLICE BEAT Man shot in head, speeds away in car A 28-year-old Camden man stopped for speeding Friday night in Jersey City told police he had just been shot in the head, according to police reports. The man, who had blood all over his head and clothing, told police that around 11:30 p.m. he purchased take-out chicken at a restaurant at Bergen and Fairview avenues, reports said. After he sat down on a nearby stoop to eat the food, a man in a hooded sweatshirt and black hat walked towards him, and he heard four shots ring out and felt a burning sensation on the right side of his head, reports said. Realizing he'd been shot, the victim jumped into his Dodge Intrepid and fled the scene, reports said. Cops stopped him at Martin Luther King Drive and Van Nostrand Avenue for speeding, reports added. The victim was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center and treated for a non-life threatening graze wound to his head, reports said.
