Gun shots reported on Heights street and shooter is on the run

Shots were fired on a Heights street Thursday night and a witness said he saw a man running away moments later, officials said yesterday.

Officers responding to Concord Street and Hopkins Avenue spoke to a man who said he was at the corner when he heard three to four shots fired at about 7:45 p.m., reports said. He said a man then ran past him heading north on Concord and then west on Hopkins, reports said.

The man running was described as wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, reports said. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
