Great that courts are lit at night, but they should be opened at all times during the DAY, since it's a public park facility. I, and many morning players, work nights so we'd like to get our tennis in before we go to bed in the morning! We're aware that we have to wipe down puddles from the court to avoid injuries, and are willing to do that if park personnel won't do their job.

What's all this crap about padlocking the Lincoln Park tennis courts even after a slight rain? They've been shut for the most of this week and the Hudson County Division of Parks sitting on their asses instead of allowing play so long as the players dry up the courts with towels or court squeegies. Or have park personnel help in the drying of the courts if there are a few puddles! Of course, wet courts are prone to accidents but players who use the courts when the rain stops could wipe them down with towels or squeegie surfaces if the parks department staff won't. Just open the courts to the public after the rain stops, come on! Not right to shut down those courts when the park basketball courts and the track are open--rain or shine or snow

Does anybody know if the courts are ever lit at night and if yes, when?

Yes, they're lit at night. They come on when it starts getting dark and last summer they automatically switched off around 10pm.

If you would like to double check what's going on this playing season I would contact the Lincoln Park Tennis Association.
