Jersey City police say 18-year-old man shot in leg by one of two men riding on bicycles on Grant Avenue after midnight

A Jersey City man was shot in the leg in a ride-by shooting early yesterday morning, Jersey City police said.

A MAN is put in an ambulance after being shot early yesterday on Grant Avenue in Jersey City.

A witness told police two men on bicycles riding on Grant Avenue fired at a person at 12:20 a.m., police said. An 18-year-old was struck at least once in the right leg and fled to Ocean Avenue, where police found him. reports said.

Police received a tip that a bicycle and gun had been dumped in nearby Arlington Park, although police could not locate the weapon, reports said. Police questioned three men. One of the men, Keith Davis, 21, was arrested after it was learned he had two outstanding warrants from Jersey City.

The victim was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center.
