Two gunmen rob 3 on street

Three Jersey City residents were robbed at gunpoint by two gun-toting males just before midnight Wednesday, and one of the victims was pistol-whipped, police said

The incident began when an 18-year-old Duncan Avenue woman was standing on Sackett Street near the corner of Union Street, leaning against a friend?s car and speaking with the driver and front-seat passenger, police said.

One of the robbers approached, knocked a cup out of her hand, and rifled through her pockets, taking her phone and ordering her to the ground, reports stated.

The robbers then ordered the driver and his passenger, both 22-year-old Jersey City residents, out of their car. The driver, a resident of Del Mar Road, told police he was shoved to the ground by one of the assailants as his passenger, a Romaine Avenue resident, was pistol-whipped across his forehead by the second robber, who was armed with a small silver revolver, reports stated.

Both men?s wallets, cellphones and keys were taken, reports stated. The driver said his black Nike ?Air Jordan? sneakers were taken, and the passenger reported that $200 cash was also taken.

The robbers fled on foot west toward Bergen Avenue, reports stated.
