View Larger Map Jersey City man, 20, shot in groin Published: Monday, July 18, 2011, 3:00 AM By Charles Hack/The Jersey Journal A 20-year-old man shot in the groin early Saturday in Downtown Jersey City was too intoxicated to help the police identify the shooter, reports said. Police were called to the area of Bright and Merseles streets on reports of shots fired at 2:40 a.m., reports said. When cops arrived, they found the wounded Sheffield Street resident at Christopher Columbus Drive and Merseles Street with a gunshot wound in the groin area, police said. The victim had been drinking and could not provide any information to police who are investigating the incident, police said. The victim was treated at Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition, reports said.
