Responding to a report of a large street fight, police found the 18-year-old victim covered in blood at 12:20 a.m. near Grant and Bergen avenues, reports said. The victim who had cuts on the side and back of his head said he went to help a friend who was involved in a fight when several people began striking them with tree limbs, reports said. Asked to identify his friend, the man became evasive and then jumped into a car and drove away, police said.
