Third suspect wanted in slaying of 66-year-old Jersey City woman

Police are seeking the public?s assistance in locating the last of three people charged in the felony murder of a 66-year-old Jersey City woman originally thought to have died from injuries suffered in a fall last year.

?We would like the public?s help in the search for Antonio Nash-Johnson,? Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said yesterday of the 20-year-old Forrest Street man charged in the homicide of Judith Bobrow of Union Street.
?He is at none of his usual haunts and he knows that we are looking for him,? DeFazio added.

The victim was found face down in front of her home on Oct. 11 and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, officials said. The case took a turn when Jersey City police officers conducting an unrelated investigation found one of Bobrow?s credit cards at Nash-Johnson?s home, officials said.
Based on the ongoing investigation, the state Regional Medical Examiner in Newark amended the manner of Bobrow?s death to homicide on May 13, DeFazio said. The cause of Bobrow?s death was blunt force trauma to the chest and abdomen, DeFazio said, adding that she suffered the injuries during an alleged robbery.

Also charged with killing Bobrow are Kenneth J. Miller, 20, of Maple Street, and Donte E. Carlisle, 19, of Ocean Avenue. Both were already in jail on unrelated charges when the homicide charges were filed. The criminal complaints say the defendants have given statements implicating each other.
Nash-Johnson?s bail has been set at $750,000 cash only by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Kevin Callahan.

A second Jersey City man has made his first court appearance on felony murder charges in the case of a 66-year-old woman originally thought to have died following a fall outside her Greenville home in October.

Kenneth J. Miller, 20, of Maple Street, is charged in the homicide and robbery of Judith Bobrow of Union Street, who was found face down in front of her home on Oct. 11 and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, officials said.

Miller appeared in Central Judicial Processing court in Jersey City yesterday via video link from the Hudson County jail in Kearny, where he was already being held on other charges. He was told at the hearing that his bail in the homicide was $500,000 cash only.

Also charged in the Bobrow case are Donte E. Carlisle, 19, of Ocean Avenue, and Antonio Nash-Johnson, 20, of Forrest Street, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said. Carlisle was already in jail when charged last week, DeFazio said, adding that Nash-Johnson is still being sought.

Three Jersey City men have been charged in the homicide of a 66-year-old woman originally thought to have died following a fall outside her Greenville home in October, officials said.

Donte E. Carlisle, 19, of Ocean Avenue, Antonio Nash-Johnson, 20, of Forrest Street, and Kenneth J. Miller, 20, of Maple Street, were charged yesterday with the felony murder of Judith Bobrow of Union Street on Oct. 11.

All three were also charged with robbing Bobrow, DeFazio said, adding that Carlisle and Miller were already in jail on other charges. Nash-Johnson is still being sought.

"It was a situation where it appeared to be a fall," Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said of Bobrow's death.

"There was subsequent investigation that has been ongoing which led us to believe that, in fact, it was not a fall, but an actual physical assault in the course of a robbery," DeFazio said.

Bobrow was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the emergency room of the Jersey City Medical Center at 9:14 p.m., DeFazio said.
