I doubt that front lake it that deep also. Maybe 4 or 5 feet deep at the most.
I remember when I used 2 walk thru the park on my way to school, I used to almost always see a car in the lake or see divers in that lake looking for guns. I know they used 2 empty that lake to look for guns or weapons.

Until I read this I would have sworn that that lake is too shallow to drown in. I doubt its even four feet deep. And thus you wouldn't need divers to find a body in it, would you? So odd.

A man's body was found in Lincoln Park lake by Fire Department scuba divers
Saturday, May 28, 2011 A 36-year-old man drowned yesterday afternoon in Lincoln Park in Jersey City, according to Fire Director Armando Roman. A call was received at 4:25 p.m. that a man had fallen into the county park's small lake located across from the Casino in the Park catering hall, according to Roman. Using scuba diving equipment, members of the Fire Department's Rescue One unit recovered the body. The man was pronounced dead at the Jersey City Medical Center, said Roman. Authorities did not release the identity of the victim. Roman said there did not seem to be any indication of foul play and that witnesses said the victim had jumped or fallen into the small lake but never resurfaced. Jersey City Police, officers from the Sheriff's Office and firefighters responded. BRENDAN TORRES
