Police: Teen girl in Greenville carrying two guns; could be related to nearby shooting

Jersey City police busted a 17-year-old girl in Greenville who was carrying two guns yesterday at about 12:30 p.m., police said.

Responding to a report of shots fired over roughly 45 minutes, police recovered 11 shell casings in the area of Ocean and Neptune avenues, reports said.

Police said the two incidents could be related.

Cops arrested the gun-toting teen after a police officer on Old Bergen Road saw several people running away from where the girl and two males were walking, reports said. The arrest was made near Stegman Street and Ocean Avenue.

One of the persons running away told police that the girl was carrying two guns. When the cops approached her, the males ran away and cops arrested her, reports said.

After she was taken into custody, the girl experienced an asthma attack and was treated for that, reports said.
