View Larger Map Two rob and beat Jersey City man, 28, at knifepoint Monday, January 17, 2011 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A 28-year-old Jersey City man was beaten and robbed at knifepoint as he walked on Yale Avenue early Friday morning, officials said. The Mallory Avenue victim told police he was walking on Yale at 12:50 a.m. when two men approached him and immediately began kicking and punching him, reports said. One of the robbers brandished a knife as they took the victims iPhone, his book bag and $50 before running away heading east on Yale, reports said. The robber with the knife was wearing a long black coat and ski mask, while the second was wearing a black puffy jacket with red emblems around the shoulder area and on both sleeves, reports said. Both were about 5 feet 8 inches-tall and of medium build, reports said. The victim's face was swollen and bruised but he refused medical attention, reports said.
