View Larger Map Jersey City police say two men fighting in Armstrong Avenue home are arrested on separate charges Tuesday, November 30, 2010 By CHARLES HACK JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A domestic violence incident involving two Jersey City men Friday night led police to arrest both men, charging one with illegal gun possession and the other with drug possession, police reports said. Police were called to 385 Armstrong Ave. on the report of a landlord tenant dispute at 9:13 p.m., police said. As they arrived David Christopher Guarini, 33, who was bleeding from his arm and leg, approached them and said that Joseph A. Dalessandro, 35, who lives in the same apartment, had set a dog on him during a fistfight, reports said. But Dalessandro said his dog was defending him during a fight in which Guarini had fired a 9mm Luger at him and missed, police said. Police entered the apartment and smelled gunpowder and found evidence of various drugs scattered around the apartment, reports said. A search of the apartment turned up 16 Ecstasy pills, nine small bags containing cocaine, 20 containing marijuana, one with crystal meth, and 38 with suspected drug residue, reports said. They also found two swords and a bayonet and the Luger was placed in evidence, reports said. Guarini was charged with domestic violence, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, reports said. Dalessandro was charged with three counts of manufacturing and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, three counts of drug possession within 1,000 feet of a school, four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intend to distribute and one count of paraphernalia, reports said. ================================ Domestic violence report leads to arrest of two Jersey City men for drug and gun possession charges, police say Updated: Tuesday, November 30, 2010, 9:28 AM The Jersey Journal Police were called to 385 Armstrong Ave. on the report of a landlord-tenant dispute. Today's Jersey Journal reports that police were called to an Armstrong Avenue home in Jersey City to investigate a landlord-tenant dispute to find two men allegedly engaged in illegal activities. When police arrived on the scene, they found David Christopher Guarini bleeding from his arm and leg. Guarini said another man, Joseph A. Dalessandro, had his dog attack him during a fight, reports said. Dalessandro claimed that his dog was only defending him after Guarini attempted to shoot him with a 9mm Luger, according to the police. Police entered the building and smelled not just gunpowder presumably from the Luger, but also saw evidence of various drugs scattered around the apartment, reports said. Police say they found 16 Ecstasy pills, 9 small bags containing cocaine, 20 containing marijuana, one with crystal methamphetamine and 38 with suspected drug residue as well as two swords, a bayonet and the aforementioned Luger. Reports said both men were arrested and each was charged with a laundry list of offenses.
