A Jersey City man was badly beaten by several youths during a street robbery early yesterday morning and was rushed to the Jersey City Medical Center suffering from several injuries, officials said.
At 2:30 a.m., police officers responded to the home of the 41-year-old victim, who said he was at Bergen and Lexington avenues when three males, possibly juveniles, attacked him, reports said.
He said they knocked him down and repeatedly kicked him in the head and face while going through his pockets, taking $250, reports said.
The officers said the man's jaw appeared to be broken, his left eye was swollen shut, and his head and face were also swollen, reports said, adding that the victim was intoxicated.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call the Jersey City police tip line at (201) 547-JAIL.
