I've never been able to convince a cab driver to go through the Holland Tunnel for less than $40 (even though a lot of them actually use the gas stations on the NJ side anyway).

I've gotten car services from downtown from fulton to downtown JC and it was around $60-$65. They charge insanely just for crossing the river. So unless I can expense it with work, I just take cabs to WTC then take the PATH.

Chelsea to downtown JC - In good weather, no traffic, you can get them for $35-40 all in. You might have to ask a few but you'll find a taker.

I used to take executive car service, recently been taking cabs.

Car service from mid-town NYC to downtown JC was about $75 + toll.

For cabs, depending where I am in the city, fare is typically $30-60 + toll. For Chelsea @ 1am there would be no traffic and that is a short ride, I would aim for $40+toll ($48).

Alternatively, I remember a JC car service that had flat rates to the city - something like $45 + toll for pick-up/drop-off in any location. If you know ahead of time your schedule that would probably be the most ideal.

If so who did you use and how much? Sometimes I have to work late (1AM) and I don't feel like riding the PATH through Hoboken. Any ideas how much a ride from Chelsea to JSQ would run?
