Re: Has anyone ever taken a car service from the city back to JC?

I used to take executive car service, recently been taking cabs.

Car service from mid-town NYC to downtown JC was about $75 + toll.

For cabs, depending where I am in the city, fare is typically $30-60 + toll. For Chelsea @ 1am there would be no traffic and that is a short ride, I would aim for $40+toll ($48).

Alternatively, I remember a JC car service that had flat rates to the city - something like $45 + toll for pick-up/drop-off in any location. If you know ahead of time your schedule that would probably be the most ideal.

I havent gotten any quotes...I acutally havent been able to locate anyone who can do the project. The entire floor isnt sagging, just certain sections. The floor is in on condo and the building is pre-war. I am not sure if the floor just settled strangely or whether there are structural defects.

Hi, I am looking for a contractor who can tear up the wood floor in my apartment and replace the subfloor (it isnt level). Does anyone have a good recommendation for a contractor in the JC area who would be able to do the project? Project is on the smaller size (size of floor area is about 500sqft). Thanks

sweets - i updated info on route 126. thanks for the heads up. i havent subdivided the neighborhoods into hamilton park/van vorst bc not many routes operate in those neighborhoods so please search "grove street". If any new routes open up in those neighborhoods I will def. spin them off.

Hey,

I will check out that line tonight and make the updates. If in the future you ever come across a line I am missing please email me at info@jctransit.com and let me know. I am planning to check NJ Transit and the other bus co. sites once a month for changes, or just update and people feed me info.

Jitney's are tought, the companies are completely unresponsive. I got as many as i could but i know i am still missing some (esp. the bergenline route - if anyone has info on this please send). I am in contact with a few of the big guys and will be making periodic updates as they send me info on their routes.

During rush hour the schedule is less important bc the trains run at such a high frequency - what is important is knowing the routes and where to transfer to get to a specific destination or what your options are. During off-peak hours the trains run much closer to target. But yes, to Ian's point, the trains all leave the depot at scheduled times but may get hung up for a few moments at a station.

Hey Guys,

I just finished a new site which aggregates a bunch of public transportation info in and around Jersey City. It has a tool which lets you search bus routes by origin (JC Neighborhood) and find all available destinations. It also has a PATH tool where you can specify your route and get schedule info (it also explains transfers and lays out multiple options when available).

Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks
