Robbers target two Jersey City gas stations
By Gem Jefferson/The Jersey Journal February 26, 2010, 6:00AM
Two Jersey City gas stations were robbed within 15 minutes early yesterday morning, reports said.
Police said that at about 3:10 a.m. at Lukoil Gas, 3130 Kennedy Blvd., a man wielding a 6-inch knife stepped out of an old model, blue 4-door car, put on a blue face mask, approached the attendant and said, "Give me your money." The attendant handed over a wad of singles totaling approximately $100 and the robber got back in his car and fled south on Kennedy Boulevard toward Journal Square, police reports said.
Fourteen minutes later, officers were sent to the Hess Gas Station on Route 440 on a report of a robbery in progress. A male driving a blue, 2-door Honda Accord asked the employee to fill his gas tank, and when the employee came to collect money, the driver pulled out a knife and said, "Give me your money," reports said.
The employee handed over $90. The robber fled south on Route 440.
