That would be awesome if they built an entrance there, it would shave about 5 minutes off my commute each day.

As per the wikipedia article, the Newport/Pavonia PATH station opened on August 2nd 1909. So it completed a 100 years 2 days ago. Wow!

Thanks for posting those links. I use this station everyday but had never thought to look it up before.

Thanks. Does anyone know the status of what wikipedia refers to as "a long-proposed second entry to the station on the west side of Washington Boulevard to ease congestion?"

It could provide direct access to the Light Rail station and the mall as well as a safer and quicker access to the PATH for all coming from the HP area.

Note the reference to the "E" on the pillars. There are some cool historical arial pictures of the area when you enter the mall from the footbridge. Upon entering the mall look up and to the left.

Does anyone know the history of the design of this station? The entrance is very oddly placed for anyone coming from the west who must cross Washington street and the plaza only to double back underground to the platform. Was the entrance always only from the east?
