I've got about $50 in loose change, that should cover a substantial portion of it...

The pocket parks were a quaint idea that probably came at the wrong time, because it was just when urban decay was setting in and they were used by vagrants, drug dealers, etc.
I believe that with respect to the pocket park on 1st, there is the additional problem of the neighboring buildings. They have some structural problems and I think they have been condemned. So you can't open up the park in any event until that is addressed.

As much potential as it has to be a teriffic park, I think it would be best left closed. The last thing we need is for the city to open that gate, and have it overrun with the dregs of society pouring out of Indio's on a regular basis.
I can see the drug deals now, not to mention in the warmer weather, it would give the prostitutes and johns another alternative to using their car on the street. Now, if we could get rid of Indio's, and not have this block seething with their customers, I would love for the park to be open.

Does anyone know what the deal is with the run down park on 1st st. between Colgate and Monmouth? It looks like something out of Silent Hill. Seems like it has a lot of potential to be a great neighborhood park.
Does the lack of renovation have anything to do with the house next door that looks like it is falling over?
