Jersey City man sentenced to life in prison for '05 Asbury Park murder

Andre Dennis, 24, of Jersey City, was sentenced today to life in prison for his role in the 2005 murder of an Asbury Park Press pet shop owner.
ASBURY PARK -- A Jersey City man, already in prison for aggravated manslaughter, was sentenced to life today for the 2005 murder of an Asbury Park pet shop owner, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press.
Andre Dennis, 24, is currently serving an 18-year sentence for aggravated manslaughter for an incident that occurred in Hudson County eight days before the Asbury Park murder, the report said. The report said Dennis was sentenced today for his role in the execution-style murder of Saahron Jones on Dec. 31, 2005. Dennis will begin the life sentence once the 18 year sentence is complete, the report said.
