Voters can print out the absentee ballot application from the state Division of Elections Web site. In Hudson County, it would be returned to County Clerk Barbara Netchert, 583 Newark Ave., Jersey City, NJ 07306.

http://www.state.nj.us/state/election ... ee_ballot-eng-7.18.07.pdf

I also saw a post that mentions you can go to the County Clerk's office and fill out an application there and get an absentee ballot on the spot.

Then you can fill your ballot out and walk it over to the Board of Elections' office at 595 Newark Ave. It's basically right next door to the Court House where the County Clerk's office is located.

Hope this helps.

Absentee Ballot Voting

In New Jersey, any voter can now vote by Absentee Ballot for any election. You do not need a reason to vote by Absentee Ballot. Don't feel like going to the polls? Simply vote by mail. Now there is "no excuse" not to vote!

A voter may apply for an absentee ballot by completing an Absentee Ballot Application (see below) and mailing the application to their County Clerk by mail up to 7 days prior to the election.

A voter may also apply in person to the County Clerk until 3:00 p.m., the day before the election.

The County Clerk cannot accept faxed copies of an Absentee Ballot Application since an original signature is required.

Voting is powerful! Voting is responsible! Voting is a privilege! Use your privilege, be responsible, and be POWERFUL!

To vote is a way to exhibit one's patriotism and devotion, as well as to support the country, or in our case support our city through tougher times. In short, to be a patriot and devoted means to remain loyal to one's country, state or city and given the fight that was fought in the past to secure us that right, it seems only "right" that we exercise it when we can. To in the end, represent.
