Shotgun used in street heist
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 A Jersey City man was robbed of a $7,000 gold chain by a shotgun toting thief Monday night and two witnesses to the crime refused to cooperate with police conducting the investigation, officials said. At 9:37 p.m. the 25-year-old Bergen Avenue man was at Bergen Avenue and Wegman Parkway when a masked man approached and pulled a shotgun out of his right sleeve, officials said. "Give up the chain," the man ordered, reports said. After grabbing the chain, valued at $7,250, he patted down the victim's pockets saying, "Where the cash at," reports said. But the victim said he had had nothing else and the robber ran away, reports said. MICHAELANGELO CONTE
