Jail worker is caught sleeping with 'dealer'
5 arrested; cache of drugs, weapons found at building Friday, March 06, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A Hudson County corrections employee was arrested on numerous drug and weapons charges yesterday after Jersey City cops busted down the door of a suspected drug dealer and found the officer in bed with him, officials said. Fifty bags of suspected heroin, a 9mm handgun, a bulletproof vest and a samurai sword and sheath were confiscated from the apartment, cops said. Advertisement A rifle, clips, another handgun and ammunition were confiscated from another apartment in the building when cops smelled marijuana on their way out, police said. Juvenile Detention Officer Terea Lucas, 25, and Muddathir Muhammad, 28, both of Fulton Avenue at Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, were arrested at about 2 a.m. and charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute near a school, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and other drug and weapons charges, reports said. An investigation into Muhammad that's lasted months led narcotic officers to set up surveillance at his house Wednesday night. Officers watched as two vehicles pulled up and the drivers ran inside for a few minutes before driving off, reports said. Police got a search warrant for Muhammad's apartment at 1:22 a.m. after stopping both vehicles and finding drugs, reports said. The cops rang Muhammad's bell, but after getting no answer they busted down the door and got the couple out of bed before finding 50 bags of suspected heroin in an unoccupied child's room, officials said. They also found the bulletproof vest, the samurai sword and - inside a kitchen cabinet - a loaded 9mm handgun, officials said. As officers were leaving the apartment they smelled burning marijuana at the basement landing and found 28-year-old Ralph Durosier smoking a cigar loaded with pot and backing into his apartment, reports said. Through his open door police saw an assault rifle with a scope and a large clip of rounds laying on a sofa, reports said. Inside Durosier's apartment police also found 500 .22 caliber rounds and a revolver loaded with hollow-point bullets, reports said. He was charged with possession of marijuana and weapons offenses, including possession of an assault rifle, police said. Also arrested were the two drivers pulled over before the search: Andre Stafford, 26, of Seaview Avenue at Old Bergen Road, and Rogelio Cooper, 33, of New York, reports said. Cooper was charged with possession of marijuana, while Stafford was charged with numerous drug counts including possession of heroin with intent to distribute near a school, reports said. Guess these guys didn't hear about Mayor Healys successful gun buy back program. The gun epidemic goes on and on and on.
