According to officials, a Jersey City offender was spotted with an AK-47 rifle that can lead to another long stay in prison if found guilty of weapons offense charges.
Officers received a tip and began surveillance at Seidler Street and Clinton Avenue, reports said.
While investigating, officials saw the offender jump out of a Toyota from the passenger seat, run into a building and return with an object enfolded in a blue sheet. While placing the object in the trunk, part of the cloth slipped back exposing the rifle, reports said.
Police surrounded the vehicle, arrested the offender, and seized the weapon.
