A 21-year-old man was stabbed at least three times after coming to the aid of a bartender who was slapped in the face early Saturday morning, police reports said.
Police were called to a bar at Monticello and Gardner avenues on a report of a woman being punched in the face at 1:06 a.m. But when they arrived they found a man walking down the middle of the street with his white T-shirt and jeans soaked in blood from multiple stab wounds, reports said.
The victim told cops he had argued with a man who he said slapped a female bartender/bouncer in the face, and that another man stabbed him with a knife, reports said.
The victim was listed in a stable condition at Jersey City Medical Center.
